Astronomers are  puzzled by the discovery of an alien world with an inclined orbit.

ALIEN WORLD

The orbit of an exoplanet around a star in a binary star system has been depicted in three dimensions for the first time.

The planet orbits its star at a different angle from the plane of the orbits of the two stars.

This misalignment may provide clues to how planets form in binary systems.

The exoplanet, which is located at a distance of 20.3 light years from Earth.

Discovered by astronomers led by Salvador Curiel of Mexico's National Autonomous University, the

star GJ 896a moves through space, seemingly faltering in its path.

This wobble is caused by an orbit whose mass is 2.3 times that of Jupiter

it completes one orbit every 284.4 Earth days.
